    Indications:

    • Kittens, from weaning (3 weeks of age) until 1 year old.
    • Pregnant and lactating queens.

    Not Recommended For:

    • Long-term feeding to adult cats, unless they have higher than normal energy requirements.

    Additional Info:

    • During the last half of lactation, kittens can be weaned on to the same VetEssentials Kitten food that is being fed to the queen, which simplifies the weaning process.
    • The VetEssentials Kitten formula is enriched with a high level of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), an essential structural component of the brain which occurs naturally in mothers’ milk.  Feeding VetEssentials Kitten to pregnant and lactating queens provides kittens with high levels of DHA before weaning.  When also fed to kittens after weaning, additional DHA is supplied throughout the critical formation and development of brain and eyes.
    • VetEssentials Kitten may be fed in combination with any canned or pouch formula of Science PlanTM Kitten.

  • Feeding Guide

How to adjust feeding amounts to maintain optimal weight.

Kittens and pregnant and lacting queens can usually be fed an unrestricted amount of food, but a guide to the daily amounts is provided. These amounts are a starting point only because animals' needs vary¹.  Adjust the feeding amount to maintain optimal body weight.

    KITTENS

VetEssentials Kitten should be fed from weaning to maturity at 1 year old. Kittens can usually be fed an unrestricted amount of VetEssentials Kitten, although the following feeding guide can be used as a starting point for 2-4 meals per day and the amount adjusted to acheive/maintain optimal body condition.

    PREGNANCY

Pregnant queens can usually be fed an unrestricted amount of VetEssentials Kitten, although the feeding guide can be used as a starting point and the amount adjusted to maintain optimal body condition

    LACTATION

Lactating queens should be fed unrestricted amounts of VetEssentials Kitten (i.e. fed ad libitum) until weaning is completed.
